I’ve read a few books on hot to make myself better, achieve simple goals, or for once crush my New Years goals. This book is great! I enjoyed the parts which gave examples of why our brains work how they do and why we can’t change that. It shows how we can teach our brain, habits! The self help books I’ve read try to teach me to love myself, meditate. I don’t want that. I wanted whT this book gave, straight forward information with examples to back it up.
Both interesting in research and practical in applications, this is one of the best books I've read to motivate me to keep growing and thinking about habits and changing patterns. Want to read it again!

Excellent description of how the brain and habits work. Clear easy to understand language. So useful everyone should be taught this technique that is doable and produces understandable results.
The book was enjoyable and easy to read and provided a lot of insight about how the brain works. I think everyone would like to be smarter and maintain brain function our entire life. This book provides key steps in working to achieve this goal. There were a couple examples that didn’t quite make logical sense (brain size in domesticated human?, comparisons to epilepsy, etc).
A great read, gives me a new perspective I've never read before.
I think this book makes it easy to understand how different behaviors can be changed by paying attention to various cues and our reactions and thoughts about them. There of course is no easy fix and incremental changes are necessary to form new habits.
This book gets right to the point and makes the point that you really can change your brain, you can do it by dedicated, focused work and it explains how and why. I think everyone should read this book. The advice and science herein are practical for anyone who wants to better themselves or to simply understand how your brain works. It's also a great intro for anyone wondering why it's so hard to change and how difficult it can be to escape negative talk and habits. It's a fast, easy read.
